I trained as a graphic designer and it was this interest in design that helped me to develop my love of needlework.

I tried many forms of embroidery over the years but was only 'bitten' by the doll making bug whilst on holiday on the Greek island of Santorini. On entering a tiny cave-like shop I was faced with the most exquisite - and expensive - marionettes, and promised myself I would have a go at making my own. Several months later, having discovered it was actually far more difficult than it looked, I bought a couple of doll patterns from a needlework show - and was hooked.

I started by making a range of character dolls but have recently found myself drawn to the more comical Gnomz. Making people smile when they see the quirky little characters gives me a great buzz.

Each character figure is individually designed and made to the highest standard from high quality brushed fabric or cotton, and dressed using a variety of fabrics, leather and lace. Each character is approximately 44cm from head to toe.
